Always improving. This app is a living beta — it changes a little every day: 1% better every day. Things will move, grow, and sometimes be replaced as we learn what helps most. Last updated October 29, 2026.
Toronto Police Service (major crimes, theft from vehicles, bicycle thefts, shootings & firearm discharges, and homicides) · York Regional Police · Durham Regional Police Service — official open-data feeds (trailing 12 months), loaded live from the police feeds. The map opens on the past month; wider ranges load as you choose them. Peel & Halton have no public incident feed yet. Posts from the police services' own social accounts and from local news & community pages also appear — each wears its platform's logo and its trust label, and a post that matches an official incident links from that incident's card instead of plotting twice. A pin's logo shows where a post appeared; the source filters sort by whose voice it is — 🚔 police, 📰 news, or 💬 community (raw public posts and community groups, unverified until they match an official record).
If you've already allowed location access, the map centres on you automatically when it opens; otherwise it asks once, the first time. Your coordinates are used only in this tab — never sent to our servers, stored, or logged. The only thing kept on your device is your answer to that one-time ask — never your coordinates. Whatever you type into search — an address, a street corner, a place, a neighbourhood, a postal code — is sent to geocoders (OpenStreetMap Nominatim and Esri) to find it on the map. Places you ⭐ follow are saved only in this browser, on this device — their names, locations and your last-visit times never leave it. Tapping "I saw this too" on a report sends only an anonymous count for that report — never who you are or where you are.
In the works — no dates promised, just the direction:
What should we build next? Tap a pick, add a note, or both — no name or email needed, just your idea. Please don't include personal info.
Thanks — we read every note. The app gets 1% better a day, and your note steers it.
